		<description><![CDATA[Thanks Margot.  I will definitely write about that but more under personnel than leaders and managers.  Micromanagement is definitely a huge problem.  But so is almost no management.  In my experience, the church tends to end up on one of those extremes rather than in the productive area that lies in between the extremes.  I think the key to healthy oversight is to focus on outcomes, not how people get the outcome.  So we tell an employee, &quot;This is what we need to happen.  It is your job to make it happen.  Let me know if you need any help, additional resources or someone off of whom you can bounce ideas.&quot;  Then let them do their job.  If they get the outcome, great.  If they don&#039;t, then we need to have a conversation about why not.  More on this when I get to personnel stuff.]]></description>

About incarnational ministry, I am one of those pastors that has difficulty with doing the work of the church that seems better suited for someone who is skilled in business, accounting, etc. rather than theology and social work (my degrees.)  I have learned to be a generalist and do fairly well with administration but I&#039;m much more inclined to encourage others in the church to exercise their skills. In the same way, I don&#039;t expect them to preach or preside at pastoral functions, they can&#039;t expect me to be super pastor, jack-of-all-trades, for the church.  I really do think pastors have to focus on preaching and teaching the gospel in such a way to strengthens the work of the church in the world.  (I say this knowing that you earned an MBA along the way. I wish I had at least a few good courses in MBA program.)
